Sevenfold Offertory Commitment Program
Frequently Asked Questions
What is SEVENFOLD? SEVENFOLD is St. Paul’s Parish Support Program. All parishioners are asked to pledge a monetary contribution that they believe is reflective of their dedication, support, and appreciation of the blessings God has given to them. All pledge information is confidential.
Why should I participate? As parishioners of St. Paul’s, it is our responsibility to support our parish, not only spiritually, but also financially. As a parish, we need to accurately forecast our income while anticipating our expenditures. Your pledged support funds ministries of the parish, and maintains the rectory, church buildings and grounds. In addition, if your children participate in the parish’s religious education programs, you should be aware that we count on SEVENFOLD and other offertory support to subsidize a substantial portion of program costs not covered by registration fees.
How do I participate? Please complete the enrollment form (available at the tables at the church entrances) keeping in mind that your pledge reflects only your offertory commitment, not Grand Annual or Second Collection contributions. Saint Paul’s has the ability to collect contributions electronically using either an automated, secure online banking service called WeShare or Givebutter or the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) option of your bank. These are the preferred methods of contributions because it allows our parish to budget offertory support more accurately. Alternatively, you can contribute weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually by cash and checks. Please return your completed pledge form to the rectory, or place it in the weekend offertory basket.
One of my stocks has gone up and I hear that I can give it to the SEVENFOLD program and avoid capital gains taxes. How do I do this? It is a simple matter to fulfill your pledge (and possibly gain a tax advantage) by transferring shares of stock to the Pledge Program. Discuss your interest in doing so with your broker or financial advisor, then contact the Parish Office for further information.
What about envelopes? You will receive envelopes according to your designated periodic contribution. Weekly contributors will receive weekly envelopes, monthly contributors will receive monthly envelopes, quarterly contributors will receive quarterly envelopes and annual contributors will receive annual envelopes. These envelopes can be placed in the Sunday offertory collection basket.
Is my contribution tax-deductible? Yes, if you itemize deductions on your federal tax return.
Can I make changes to my pledge? Yes, you can change your information and pledge amount anytime by calling the Parish officeat 978-468-2337 for assistance.
